Intellectual property rights (“IP”) may be held to be one of the most valuable assets a business may have. IP can: assist in beating your competition; be licensed or transferred thereby providing an important revenue stream; provide your customers with innovative products and form an integral part of your marketing strategy.

There are many aspects of a business that may be safeguarded including its name and logo, trademarks, designs and inventions and it definitely makes strong business sense to safeguard and exploit your IP in the best way possible.  IP and how well it is safeguarded are extremely important factors when it comes to transferring a business.
