New Malta Residence Programme for Non-EU Nationals

A new Malta residence programme, called the Global Residence Programme was launched by the Government for non-EU nationals.

In order to qualify for this programme, Non-EU nationals need to purchase property for at least Euro 275,000 however when the property is in the South of Malta or in Gozo, the minimum value is of Euro 220,000. Applicants would also be eligible if they rent a property for a minimum of Euro 9,600 annually in Malta and Euro 8,750 in Gozo or the South of Malta.

Overseas income received in Malta will be taxed at 15% subject to a minimum tax of Euro 15,000 per annum.

Foreign residents under this programme, including their dependents, have to be covered by adequate health insurance cover.
