Jeremy was called to the Bar in the year 2000. He was conferred with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Legal and Humanistic Studies from the University of Malta in 1996, graduated as a Notary Public in 1997 and was subsequently conferred with the degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) in 1999 after successfully defending his thesis titled ‘The Legal Implications of Act XXI of 1993 vis-à-vis Real and Personal Rights’.
For three years prior to being conferred with the degree of Doctor of Laws, he successfully completed his legal traineeship first with a notarial office and then with a leading law firm in Malta with which he was employed for a brief period of time.
Jeremymoved into private practice following this brief employment and was a founding partner of the law firm Ellul Mifsud & Debono Advocates, today EMD.
As part of his practice as a partner at EMD Advocates, Jeremy assists various clients, both corporate as well as private clients in local and cross-border issues. Over the years Jeremy practiced in the legal areas related to family law, immigration, iGaming, real estate, debt collection and contract drafting.
