The Malta Aircraft Registration Act Comes Into Force

On the 22nd June 2010, Parliament approved and published the Aircraft Registration Act which has now officially come into force as of 1st October 2010 as established by the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications by virtue of Legal Notice 446 of 2010. The Aircraft Registration Act regulates the Maltese aircraft register, introduces the regulation of aircraft mortgages and special privileges on aircraft. An important aspect of the Act is that it implements the Cape Town Convention. The Act is further complemented by an array of fiscal incentives pertinent to international aviation.
